A roadside station in Minabe, an ume-growing town in Wakayama. Exhibits on the history of ume (including real umeboshi about 150 years old), and a shop selling local ume products. Closed on Tuesdays (the next day when Tuesday is a holiday).

We sell carefully selected umeboshi from plum-producing regions across Japan, centered on Wakayama Prefecture. Flavors vary by origin and even among producers within the same region, depending on variety and production method. For traditional plums, we seek out makers who finish them in the old-fashioned way; for sweet and sour plums, we find producers who master that specific balance. We identify the variety best suited for sour plums, soft varieties, and crunchy umeboshi, searching for the most delicious umeboshi for each type.
