The plum grove began in 1931 when Tokyu Corporation opened it, and today, as a city park, it features about 200 plum trees of 32 varieties. In addition to Haku Kaga, it boasts rare varieties such as Ryokugaku-bai, which originated in China, and Omoimama, which blooms in both red and white.
According to the city of Yokohama, the plum wine "Okurayama Umeju Ume no Kaoru" was also created from the Haku Kaga plums in this grove.
