Features

Grown in Kanto since the Edo period. Firm, greenish fruit with a good aroma that keeps relatively well.

Best uses

  • Umeshu & syrup: firm green fruit releases plenty of flavour.
  • Umeboshi: the thick flesh is also widely used for pickling in Kanto.

For umeshu, choose firm, green, unblemished fruit.
