A plum garden inside Odawara Flower Garden, a botanical park in Odawara City, taking up about half of the park. It has about 500 ume trees of some 300 varieties, one of the largest variety collections in the Kanto region.
Each tree has a label explaining its variety, so you can compare flower colours and forms as you walk. You can see "Wachigai", which bears red, white and variegated flowers on one branch, and "Juro", an umeboshi plum bred in Odawara. A plum festival is held every year from late January to early March.
